横浜教区ステラマリスは、船員など海で働く人たちへの奉仕活動を行っているカトリック横浜司教区に所属する団体です。船の上で働く人びとの多くは、発展途上国の出身で、長期間にわたり家族の元を離れ、厳しい大自然と闘いながら世界中の海を往来する過酷な労働環境に置かれています。STELLA MARIS は、このような人びとが入港した際、船を訪れ、地域情報を提供し、近隣の町や教会までの送迎サービスを行っています。また、彼らの話を聞き、必要に応じたサポートを行います。さらに横浜教区ステラマリス 船員センターでのWiFi通信の提供、インターネット接続機器の提供なども行っています。
STELLA MARIS Yokohama is a Catholic Maritime Group of Yokohama Diocese, who assists the people on the sea. It provides pastoral care for crews by sea and by land. Those who work on ships mainly are from developing countries, being away from home and their families for a long period of time, are struggling against the severe natute of working environment on board traveling all over the world. STELLA MARIS listens to their needs and gives them necessary support. Moreover, it provides them the local information and Free Wi-Fi and rent the internet device in the STELLA MARIS YOKOHAMA Seafares Center. In order to support them, we need transportation moving around the dock area and pick them up and drive them to towns and churches nearby.
